My primary duties are to conduct research under the guidance of my supervisor. I have developed social science survey instruments for collecting both quantitative and qualitative data, analyzed these data, and disseminated research findings in professional presentations and publications.
My MS thesis focuses on understanding how stakeholders’ perceptions’ affect collaborative natural resource management efforts. I completed a study of the Leasehold Forestry and Livestock Program in Nepal. One of the objectives of this study was to understand the program’s contribution in poverty reduction and resource regeneration.
I also conducted another study of community based advocacy organizations associated with parks in Midwest region of the United States. This study looked at the roles, opportunities and challenges in public land management.
